A Transatlantic voyage is an amazing cruise vacation. In fact, you
might say it's the best of both worlds, on board and on shore. There
are amazing ports of call on this European cruise; plus, after you
have toured Europe you will have time to enjoy the serenity of the
sea and relax while sailing back to the USA.
An international port located on the
estuary of the rivers Stour and Orwell in northeast Essex, Harwich is
one of England's busiest coastal towns. It's also just 69 miles from
London. Throughout history, the town has been a crucial port,
providing a sheltered anchorage for many ships. The old town of
Harwich is a conservation area, where you'll discover many historic
buildings. The neighboring town of Dovercourt is a bit more modern,
but equally quaint and fascinating to explore.
Paris, the capital city of France, is a beautiful, artistic city, situated
in the northcentral part of France. The city lies on both banks of the
River Seine. The north bank was historically the area where Royalty
and the wealthy merchant-class lived, and today it is the
government and commercial district. While the south bank, with its
image of an intellectual and bohemian playground, is the site where
the university was founded.
Cornwall - Imagine the beautiful blue coasts of the Mediterranean
combined with the rolling green hills of Britain and the quaint fishing
villages of New England, and you've only begun to
capture the striking landscapes of Southwest England. Falmouth,
located in the Duchy (territory) of Cornwall, offers a variety of
activities like biking, hiking, even surfing - complemented by a mild
climate and unforgettable scenery.
Located on Holy Island at the tip of the Isle of Anglesey, Holyhead is
perhaps best known as a bustling ferry port and gateway to
Ireland. However, visitors will find that Holyhead has many other
attractions to offer, including a lively town center with fine dining
and shopping. The focal point of the town's center is St. Cybi's
Church, which was constructed inside one of Europe's only three-
walled forts (the sea provided the fourth wall) built by the Romans
in the 13th century. The sea also provides excellent fishing from
shore or boat. And even if you don’t catch anything, you’ll enjoy a
great view of the island’s magnificent craggy coastline.
Dublin, Ireland's capital, is a thriving modern city. Yet it is also
remarkably elegant. This is due in part to the restoration of its
magnificent public buildings and distinctive Georgian squares to
reveal the elegance of the 18th century to today's visitors. Dublin's
people are renowned for being warm, friendly and eager to help
visitors enjoy their home city.
The magnificent Cobh Harbor is just a short drive from Cork. An
enchanting place, the main district of Cork sits on an island formed
by the diverging channels of the River Lee. The city itself is filled with
a multitude of picturesque quays and bridges. Cork is the ideal spot
to outfit yourself with Irish tweeds, kiss the Blarney Stone or simply
relax and enjoy the charming countryside.
Protected by a narrow, rocky entrance, St. John's harbor may seem
like a quaint island village, but it is actually a modern city with plenty
of cultural attractions. This vibrant port city is a nice contrast to
some of the more rural outlying areas, and offers plenty of
amenities for travelers and locals alike.
The cradle of the American Revolution and one of the oldest cities in
the United States, Boston remains the metropolitan center of New
England. With its unrivaled historical significance, old New
England charm and cosmopolitan sophistication, Boston offers a
fascinating travel experience to any visitor.
